Paulie’s biography
Paulie Cohen is a multi-instrumentalist living in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Playful and introspective in life, his personality radiates into his music, and his musical style reflects an upbringing that included a love for most genres of music. Paulie has worn many different hats in various bands and projects over the years, and he always turns to his drums (or one of the various guitars hanging on the walls) when he needs a moment to feel more like himself.
Paulie’s 2021 release of The Senary is his most ambitious musical project to date. His album mixes the gentleness of Cat Stevens with the layers and complexity of Peter Gabriel’s approach to production. The Senary is a continuous piece of music, with a run time of just over an hour, and it tells multiple stories from the perspective of characters from 10 various 80s movies. Paulie wrote, performed, recorded, and produced the record from his home studio, all while fighting a cancer diagnosis during a pandemic. In his free time, Paulie is a collector of hobbies, including all things musical, photography, videography, design, tinkering in his workshop, home renovation, and was an early adopter of the “vanlife” movement, traveling and road-tripping across America and beyond. Paulie’s blessed to share this life with his zen-master soulmate, Carrie, and their two amazing children, Levi and Eva.
